
Anyway, not a deal breaker since the recorded audio sounds fine, just wondering if I'm off my rocker or not. Of course, maybe I'm just listening for it now. I've set up acoustic guitar stuff before and didn't notice it then. However, when setting up mic placement to record acoustic guitar a few days later, I noticed the same thing. SO, it could very well be that input echo has always had this type of behavior and I only noticed now that I'm just monitoring dry vocals. This is the first podcast I've recorded, and whenever I've recorded vocals in the past, it has always been with a cue mix going into my headphones in addition to the input echo of my armed vocal tracks, PLUS I typically send the track to a reverb and monitor that as well. The recorded audio sounded just fine so it's just a monitoring thing, but it was really distracting. When enabling input echo and monitoring through headphones, my voice had this weird splashy effect, almost as if I was sending it to a harsh spring reverb or something. I set my buffer settings to 64 samples whenever I record, so while that obviously introduces a bit of latency/slapback echo, it's barely noticeable.

Although I have direct input monitoring through my interface (Saffire Pro 40), I can't get it to kick up much volume, so I always enable Input Echo on the armed track. This is usually game sounds and browser sounds.So here's something I just noticed recently when recording a podcast. All apps that use the default setting will send and receive their sound to those you have selected in the Master section. You can leave these to the default setting. From here you can direct all that sound as a separate mix to OBS or leave it completely out of OBS and only send it to your speakers or headphones. Output - Voicemeeter Aux Input (VB-Audio Voicemeeter AUX VAIO) This sends all your music to virtual input 2 in Voicemeeter. Spotify (and/or any other app you use for music playback) Hence the input/output mix you see above. This seems confusing at first, but remember that Voicemeeter is a virtual mixer, so look at it like you have a physical output on a physical mixer that you send your mix our of and into your computer. This will make you sound amazing when talking to friends on Discord as well as on your stream. This makes it so that all sound that is going to communications (Discord, Skype, TeamSpeak) and recording programs (OBS, Audacity) are coming from Voicemeeter VAIO (mix B1). Set to Voicemeeter Output (VB-Audio Voicemeeter VAIO). This directs all sound that is playing on your computer and is using the standard output to the virtual input 1 in Voicemeeter. Set to Voicemeeter Input (VB-Audio Voicemeeter VAIO). Then click the “App volume and device preferences” in the bottom.

You can find these by hitting the Windows key and type “sound settings” or right-click the volume icon in your taskbar.
